Truma prioritizes flexibility in recruiting with the job portal configurator

Virtually every camper in Europe is familiar with Truma. The company began in 1949 with a gas lamp built in a living room. Since then, it has grown into a leading supplier of caravan and motorhome accessories. Today, Truma is an internationally successful systems supplier with more than 700 employees, based in Putzbrunn near Munich.

In 2021, Truma decided to completely overhaul its HR system landscape – to provide the HR department with the best possible support through state-of-the-art systems and to enable modern, efficient and people-centred HR practices. The introduction of the Rexx applicant management system was therefore a key step in this transformation programme.

State-of-the-art recruitment systems at Truma

The introduction of the new system has brought about numerous improvements for Truma. A key feature is the company’s own careers portal, which can now be kept up to date independently at any time.

This involves an integrated system with an end-to-end process: the process begins with the staffing request procedure, through which a role is approved. This approved role is seamlessly transferred to the recruitment team, where it is converted into a vacancy and subsequently into a job advertisement. As soon as a suitable candidate has been found and hired, the data is fed directly back to the HR department and the new employee is assigned to the role.

This creates a fully integrated process that ensures no information is lost, everything is fully documented and access rights are clearly defined – naturally, in full compliance with data protection regulations.

The standardisation of job advertisements also has a particularly positive impact. Thanks to pre-defined templates, previously defined content – such as the role’s responsibilities – is automatically incorporated into the advertisements. This not only ensures consistent communication but also makes the publication process straightforward. At the same time, Truma maintains a clear overview of all ongoing application processes at all times. Managers and decision-makers are transparently involved in the processes, which makes collaboration considerably easier.

Job Portal Configurator: Flexibility for your career portal

Another advantage is the job portal configurator, which makes it possible to tailor the job portal even more flexibly to specific requirements. Whilst the corporate design doesn’t change every week, minor adjustments such as a new logo or revised lettering are frequently required.

Truma used to rely on Rexx Consulting for this – today, such changes can be made independently. It was precisely this ability to design and customise as much as possible themselves that was a decisive factor for Truma in their selection.

The first changes implemented involved integrating the new logo. At the same time, Truma took the opportunity to modernise the overall design, incorporate images from the new visual identity and optimise the site for mobile devices.

Easy compliance with accessibility standards thanks to the job portal configurator

Accessibility has also become an important issue. Although the Accessibility Reinforcement Act did not yet apply to Truma in 2021, the careers page was already designed to be as accessible as possible at that time.

The issue has since come into even sharper focus, and Truma plans to address the requirements systematically. With the help of the new job portal configurator, these requirements can be implemented to the greatest possible extent. This provides Truma with a flexible tool to adapt its careers page, step by step, to meet legal requirements as fully as possible and make it accessible to all applicants.

Other modules in Rexx Recruiting: Application Booster

In addition, Truma has recently introduced a referral scheme, known as the ‘Application Booster’. Via the Rexx Stream, job vacancies can be easily posted and shared by employees directly within their networks. There are small incentives for referrals, which can escalate to a financial reward once a successful hire is made.

The entire process can be easily monitored and tracked transparently within the system. Another key feature is the system’s integrated internal application process. This enables internal applications to be handled securely and confidentially – without deviating from the usual standard process.
